A frequently overlooked aspect of kitchen design is an inventory. What is going to go into the kitchen? Without this information in the design process, you are creating a generic product out of a custom process. You must know what will be going into the kitchen to customize the design to what it will be used for and to ensure that you are creating the right amount of space.
It is not necessary to count your spoons but you do want to know how much space you need for your spoons. This is even more important when considering small appliances that are not built in. but it is also important to make sure that your largest pot will fit into the space being built for it.
