Hugh Stearns
Hugh StearnsPresident, Owner and Founder
Hugh ran Stearns Design-Build as a one-person operation when he founded it in 1993. He has been the first employee of virtually every position in the company. He grew up in College Station and Bryan and graduated from Texas A&M.

His background in philosophy and psychology has helped develop the design theory that drives the company’s unique approach to residential design and green building. He took his first class in green building in 1976 and has remained a student of building science ever since. His passion for remodeling and custom home design are a large part of what has driven our growth and award-winning recognition for customer service. When you meet with Hugh, he will answer any questions you have, explain how our process works, and discuss what you would like to do with your remodeling project.

Jimmy Tillman
Jimmy TillmanProduction Manager
Jimmy is our production manager for the company. He has been in construction for about 7 years and thoroughly enjoys remodeling. In Jimmy’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Barb, and his son, Ty, hunting, fishing, carpentry, relaxing with his family, and working out.

Once your project has begun, Jimmy is a part of the design phase for estimating. He is also another point of contact for you to be able to ask questions or get updates from. He takes all of the existing measurements, manages the job managers, & introduces the clients to the job managers.

Emily Baker
Emily BakerMarketing Director
Emily joined Stearns in 2019 as the Marketing Director. She oversees a wide spectrum of marketing initiatives within the company, bringing her creativity and enthusiasm to generate compelling content, visual storytelling and most importantly, establishing a meaningful client experience.

She holds a degree from the University of Houston in Communications & Media Production and previously worked in arts + film before joining the Marketing world. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her partner, Payton, seeing live music, enjoying arts & museums, and exploring nature.

Tamanna Tasnum
Tamanna TasnumDesigner
Tamanna holds a master’s degree in Urban planning from Texas A&M University with specializations in sustainable transportation and sustainable urbanism. She is also involved in research activities regarding human health and green environment.

She holds a bachelor degree in Architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology and has architectural work experience both in industry & in academia in Bangladesh. She also has interest working for sustainable living and green built environment . In her free time, she likes to spend quality time with her husband and two kids.

Ethan Soltau
Ethan SoltauCarpenter’s Apprentice
Ethan holds a degree from Texas A&M University College Station in Agriculture Systems Management and previously worked in the automotive service industry before joining the construction world. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Megan, going on road trips, spending time with family, and fixing things.

Once your project has begun, Ethan assists the Job Manager for your project. He helps with the day to day tasks. He is also another point of contact for you to be able to ask questions or get updates from.

Adam Wagner
Adam WagnerJob Manager
Adam has been working in the construction industry for almost 20 years as a cabinet builder and trim carpenter. He really enjoys the construction process and loves seeing a finished product. In his spare time he loves being with family and friends and loves to garden.

Once a contract has been signed, _____ will be your on-site point of contact responsible for the day to day production/advancement of the project, and he will be the one to make all the cabinetry for your project. He is also responsible for coordinating all work on the project, communicating between the client and the office, and resolving any project issues that may arise.
