We couldn’t have asked for a more delightful project than this one, working with a truly lovely client.
What’s even more special is that she is an existing member of our esteemed Stearns Home-Care family, our home maintenance subscription service. As we embarked on this journey together, we were overjoyed to witness her trust in our abilities to bring her remodeling dreams to life.
Her wish list included cosmetic updates for the kitchen, transforming the guest bathroom by replacing the bathtub with a stylish walk-in shower, and reconfiguring the primary bathroom for easier accessibility and comfort. The goal was to update her dated home, making living more accessible and enjoyable. She sought a traditional yet clean and bright interior design, considering the desire for a space that gracefully accommodates her needs as she ages.
With these goals in mind, we set out to revamp the three spaces ensuring our client’s life becomes more comfortable and her home a true haven of happiness.
Let’s start with the kitchen, where the layout and size were already well-suited to her needs. However, it lacked the aesthetic charm she desired. We worked our magic by painting all the cabinets bright white, giving it a modern and refreshing look. The old backsplash tile was replaced with timeless white subway tiles, connecting seamlessly with the adjoining spaces. And say goodbye to the old vent hood – in its place, a shiny new microwave now resides.
But we didn’t stop there; a host of other changes brought a burst of joy to the kitchen! New light fixtures, cabinet pulls, sink, faucet and tile flooring were added. We included a bookshelf cabinet with an inside outlet for her radio to cater to her love for music. The crowning glory was a stunning white quartz countertop with subtle gray veining, completing the kitchen’s transformation.
Now, let’s dive into the guest bathroom, which also underwent a makeover. Say farewell to the old shower/bathtub combo! In its place, a beautiful, tiled walk-in shower with a sliding glass door and a stylish wall niche took center stage.
We kept the design consistent with the kitchen by using the same subway tiles, creating a sense of unity between spaces. The shower floor was adorned with white pebble tiles, ensuring both safety and beauty. Other changes include replacing cabinet pulls, painting the walls and cabinets, and replacing the toilet.
And here’s the big reveal – the primary bathroom! It underwent a monumental transformation, becoming the house’s most significant area of change.
The existing small, prefabricated shower was replaced with a spacious curb–less shower – our client’s dream come true! The spatial layout was carefully redeveloped by moving the water closet and integrating an unused sitting area to create this luxurious but functional new shower space.
The floor and wall tiles were consistent with the guest bathroom, fostering a harmonious flow. The shower featured a traditional head and hand shower on a flexible slider bar for added comfort and use. Practical shelves were added to keep the shower products within easy reach.
But that’s not all; the new water closet received a complete makeover too! A new toilet, exhaust fan, grab bar, and other essentials were added to enhance functionality and comfort. In the main bath area, we replaced the tile floor with the same kitchen and guest bathroom flooring, creating a sense of connection and joy.
We incorporated new cabinet pulls, framed mirrors, and fresh paint throughout the remodeling journey to add those final touches of elegance. We even changed the door swing, ensuring a more functional and open bathroom space.
The best part? Our client couldn’t have been happier with the results! She now revels in the comfort and peace of knowing her home caters to her needs, allowing her to enjoy it for years to come. And can we just say, the space looks absolutely stunning.
