“The real power of Jazz is that a group of people can come together and create
improvised art and negotiate their agendas… and that negotiation is the art”
– Wynton Marsalis from ‘Jazz, a film by Ken Burns.’
Stearns Design Build celebrates the arts in the Brazos Valley. We are grateful to the College Station Noon Lions Club for their work in bringing us the 2nd Annual Lions Jazz Festival that will take place April 8-9, 2016 at the Palace Theater in Bryan, TX. There is a full line up of entertainment beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and starting back up at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. All proceeds from the event will benefit Lions Charities which include the Fun For All Playground, Lone Star Eye Bank and the Texas Lions Camp.
As a uniquely American art form, jazz embodies our character like few others. Jazz personifies a sense of adventure, creativity and intelligence in a way that maintains connection to our heritage while propelling us forward, wrapping us in a comfortable sense of place that inspires. In this way Jazz is our beloved downtown. Come reveal in the improvisation of space and time that is sure to make your heart soar.
