Stearns Design-Build

Owner and founder: Hugh Stearns once ran Stearns Design-Build as a one person operation and has therefore been the first employee of virtually every position in the company. He has a background in philosophy and psychology that has helped develop the design theory that drives the company's unique approach to residential design and green building. He took his first class in green building in 1976 and has remained a student of sustainability ever since.

Marketing Director / Office Manager: Liz Hughey directs our marketing and sales efforts and also manages our office, concentrating on accounting, human resources, and information technology issues.

Project Development Manager: Gina Carrera helps guide our clients through the building and remodeling process, translating their needs and desires into reality. This involves coordinating the efforts of our office, craftspeople, building specialists and suppliers. With seven years of residential and commercial construction experience, as well as a degree in Architecture from the University of Durango in Mexico, she is well qualified to achieve results for our clients.

Office Assistant: Karen Monroy assists with all aspects of running the office and keeping everyone happy.

Lead Carpenter: Rod Robinson has been with the company for 6 years.

Lead Carpenter and Painter: Eleazar Garcia has been with the company for 2 years.
